About the various Types of Astrology

Northern Lights Astrology

The most common types of astrology besides todays traditional western astrology are:
Chinese astrology, Indian Hindu Vedic astrology, Mayan astrology,
spiritual astrology, intuition astrology.

The various types of astrology can become confusing because of the disciplines used and/or interpretations of an astrological wheel. Example: India astrology, Indian astrology, Hindu astrology and Vedic astrology are not one in the same, and yet they may have very similar explanations. The root understanding of astrology is basically similar, but their methods, astrological positions, symbology and expressions may be slightly different.

Another example: using western astrology, would be the difference between the standard western version, a spiritual version and/or an intuitive version. They may be similar in that they use the same or similar astrological positions and interpretations, however, using their chosen form of expressing a more spiritual inclination and/or a personal intuitive presentation.

Another consideration in the different approaches to the types of astrology is the culture influence, such as, Chinese, Hindu, and Mayan. These culture influences may show up as different archetypes, symbology and methodology.

There are also the individual astrologers that have modified the generally accepted astrological explanations into their own interpretations, and in time, have gained enough recognition through their accurate reports to be known by their own name as a type of astrological readings.

The origins of astrology is thought by some to have originated in Babylon sometime around or before 3500BC. The question is, why and how does it work. I don't know, it just works for me. The bases is that each planet and constellation influences our makeup when we are born and continues to do so until we past to our next experience, wherever that may be for each of us.

I suppose that if we consider quantum physics and DNA we may at least understand that there are things we have lived with for eons without knowing they even existed. Even though astrology is treated with disdain by many scientist and others as a pseudo science, maybe someday in the near future, that will change and join the rakes of other so called pseudo sciences that have become accepted as a legitimate science. When that day comes, I feel it will help humankind to understand self and their relationship with humanity.

Bottom line for me is, astrology is one of the oldest human sciences and becoming more of an accepted method to help understand the individual human psyche and/or psychology.
