DIY astrology or do it yourself astrology means you can do your own astrological charts
and write your own reports using books or a computer program.

DIY astrology (do it yourself astrology) is a fun, yet challenging project, especially, if you decide to use the old book method. That is how I got started about 20 years ago, then one day I purchased a computer generated natal chart and report, WOW! In less then ten minutes I had a report that took me weeks to compile.

The difference between the book and computer methods had it's pros and cons. I learned more about astrology from the books and my information in the natal report was much more detailed than the computer generated reports, however, the astrological chart was the same and finished within minutes. Get the picture. Use a computer generated astrological chart from the computer and then use a combination of different books to formulate your own report. In time you will find that you can write an report without using the books for some reports.

Why learn to do your own astrology, if it is just for you, don't, unless you really want to learn how to do astrology. It is time consuming and may take years to get good at it. The good news, if you learn astrology yourself, you can write reports for yourself, spouse, children, relatives, friends and possibly, in time, become a professional astrologer. I didn't, I was to busy, and didn't think I was intuitive enough. So the computer was the next best way to provide reports for whoever needed them.
