Why would you want a wild bird feeder?First and foremost, identifying wild birds at the bird feeders is pure simple fun. We have sit for an hour or more with the binoculars and Stokes Field Guide identifying birds we haven't seen before. It's not as easy as most would think. We usually get it narrowed down to two or more type birds and then spend the next half hour arguing who's right. Just plain old bird watching is fun. Have you ever watched people around the food table at a party? It's a gas. Well, double that with watching wild birds do their thing. We've come to the conclusion that the timid wild birds are the ones that end up with the most food. They step back and briefly watch the others do their pushing, shoving and intimidating each other, instead of eating, then the supposedly timid one works their way around to another spot and continues to enjoy the smorgasbord. That's what a wild bird feeder provides you. Think about it, where else in nature can you see so many wild birds in one place at one time in your backyard? You got it, a backyard bird feeder. |
