Wild Birdwatching Information Website

This wild bird watching website was put together to help you get started in bird watching on the inexpensive side. Our primary objective is to present a "Birds Eye View" on birdwatching and relay information on backyard birding to others to help them develop their own bird watching pursuit reasonably. Keep in mind, you can't find many hobbies that cost under a $100.00 to get started, but birdwatching is one of them!

When looking for wild bird watching equipment, all you really need to get started is an inexpensive binocular and field guide. Acquire these, and you're well on your way. This bird watching website will give you ideas about various birdwatching equipment, and detailed information about the bird watching accessories you may want.

Buying local, from a reputable dealer: In most cases a local dealer that knows the area can be very helpful in setting you up from beginner to experienced birdwatching expert, and can save you a lot of time and headache if you run into problems with your equipment.

I use our local store Clark's All Sports, in Colville, WA - 877-684-5069. Tim Nizich, the store manager, is always helpful, pointing out the pros and cons of whatever I'm interested in and will stand behind any purchases made. Whether it's a simple technical question, such as the best way to use or operate equipment, or a major problem, such as needing assistance getting repairs through warranties, they'll help you through it, even recommending or suggesting local craftsmen.

Personal note: Tim has an expert walleye, bass and trout fisherman/salesman, that is most helpful in pointing out the hottest lures and bait, and will give many hints where the best results can be found ... sort of, (a good fisherman is not going to give you complete details of his hard earned discoveries.) The bottom line here is buy local if you can, and watch for the sales.

Whether you buy local or on the internet be sure to ask them what their policy is for returns and in helping you, should you have problems with you purchase. If you have had good experiences previously with a company, stay with them. There are great deals on the internet, but use good judgment and check them out first. Oh, and don't forget to add the shipping on the internet good deal, sometimes it's not worth it.

If you should find wild bird watching compelling, we have also included information about bird watching accessories, club, books, vacations, and more, that will enhance your experience of birdwatching, tenfold, enjoy.

About US and Wild Bird Watching

Our names are Jack and Georgia. We are not what we'd consider expert bird watchers, however, we have been birdwatching devoutly for over twelve years on and around our place in the northeastern part of the Columbia River (also known as Lake Roosevelt) in Washington State. We both have a tremendous love of wildlife and the earth, and have casually been bird watching and enjoying the beauty and wonderment of nature in general for over five decades.

Some of us may be suspicious of any thing on a website that gives away information without a cost involved, well, in an indirect way, your are right. We have a website, Birds Eye View, that sells country style home and barn birdhouses and birdfeeders that you are certainly welcome and encouraged to check out at Birds Eye View.

I also have a consulting business for family, home and small businesses that are getting started or have been on the internet and need help or advice on what needs to be done to be successful, especially how to get good positions on the search engines or use an alternate marketing plan. I usually only give advice for the "do it yourself " folks, also, our website has lots of information available on the website at familybusinesses.com.

My daughter, Renee, and I started familybusinesses.com website in 1997 for family members, which includes the immediate family, family friends or family type businesses that we helped from time to time. However, we have now become an informational and commercial website. My first website was in 1995 and I have over 45 years owning and operating family type businesses.
