When I first heard about Google Adsense, I said, are you out of your mind. Why would I want to send a potential customer to some other website. That also applied to link exchanges.

Now, I'm retiring and was thinking of closing done most of "my" areas of the family websites, but then it occurred to me that why not change it to an information website and open a Google Adsense Account?

I tried a very small seven page website and the first year made only $700.00, which is about $100 per webpage per year. Wait a minute, what if I had a hundred webpages, that's over $10,000 per year. Maybe, if I spend a little time each winter and work towards a 1000 webpages. I like the sound of that, especially writing about my favorite subjects, flying, sailing, fishing, alternative health, metaphysical, this sounds exciting.

So, it's just a numbers game. Once the webpage is up, I can go fishing, check my bank account every month. I'd much prefer fishing instead of staying close to the phone dealing with customers every day. Sorry, I really didn't mean it the way it sounds, it's just time to smell the roses.

Google does ever thing once the website is up, you just receive your check every month, or when you go over $100.00.

Setting up your Google Adsense Account is painless, if you have all the information they require ready. It took me several attempts because I didn't. I didn't spend enough time reading all the information they have available to make it painless.

Patience grasshopper, you (me) no longer need to be a class A personality, it's time to slow down and smell the roses, or better yet, the smell of the water and fresh caught fish.

The real challenge to setup a Google Adsense webpage is getting your webpages found, I used search engine optimization, but there are other options you might want to consider because search engine optimization is very intense discipline to master, or it can be very expensive to have a professional do it for you.

Think about it, there are only 20 positions that really matter on a search engine and millions of webpages competing for those prime positions. It has taken me 14 years to average 20% of my webpages in first position and 50% in the top 10, you will need help at times.

Google calls their adsense clients publishers, which refers to informational designed websites. The trick in having a successful adsense website is choosing a popular topic to write about, especially a topic that has high bidding per click.

Think about it carefully, if the high bidding is below a dollar a click verses bids above a dollar, some go as high as $10 to $20 per click, it will make a difference in you income.

Be sure to use Googles Adwords keywords tool to check out the better paying keywords to use for your keyphrases for each webpage specific subject content.

Just so there is no misunderstanding, I'm relativity new to google adsense, my specialty was search engine and user friendly websites, humanistic motivational content, and search engine optimization.
