Small Business Financing, Loans,
Line of Credit, & Grants
Small business grants, loans, line of credit, & financing.
Depending on the type of small business, grants, loans, line of credit, and financing in general can vary greatly. For example: If you have the money or assets required for your small business, you're on your way. On the other hand, if you need money to start your small business, things can get very dicey, depending on the economy, your credit worthiness and/or collateral.
Small business grants.
One option, if you can qualify which may not require excellent credit, is applying for a small business grant. Usually, this is through the United States Small Business Administration. However, like any method of seeking money from another source, it requires applying that requires a lot off personal information and a small business plan, which can become a pains taking task, time, and patience.
Most grants are designed for special or unique circumstances, such as; ethnic background, gender, your financial background, specific type of small business such as energy related, etc., or other type considerations. Most grants do not require the funds to be paid back, however, most require progress reports and other type updates.
Small business loans & line of credit.
Small business loans for initial start up are real tough to get without security, loans for things like office supplies, consultants, facility rent, utilities, initial employee wages, anything untangible. Unsecured loans for equipment and inventory are a little easier, however, strong securities and a good credit rating is hard to beat.
Every business that is under-capitalized, treasures a solid line of credit. There is a caveat that comes with a line of credit, a paper trail. A line of credit can be earmarked for inventory only, or an open-ended line of credit can be used for anything normally required to operate your business successfully. Caution, small business lines of credit can become the fall of a small business in a blink of an eye. Use it wisely with great prudence.
