Web Site Design Software And Graphic Design Programs Pros and Cons
Web Site Design Software for small business website.
It can take volumes to talk about web site design software, however, in a nut shell, be careful if you use the hosting companies website design software, it can load up your website with unnecessary html and other type coding, not all of them, but some can be a real pain in the butt, especially if you are on dialup because most of these types of programs are used live on the internet.
I started out with Hotdog, basically a html code only website design software. The good news it made me learn html coding, which I still use off an on today, well worth it, especially when I want to go through my webpage and clean up all unnecessary coding.
There are many web site design software out there today. I've been using Adobe's GoLive 3 thru 6, then they discontinued GoLive when they bought out Macromedia and now provide DreamWeaver which is one of the more popular website design softwares and very good. I'm looking forward to using it, but have to upgrade my computer first, sorry it's time to retire you, it's their fault, maybe you can kick back and do a little surfing on your own.
Graphic Design Programs
I've used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator since I started designing my basic graphics and correcting and cropping my pictures, so I'm not going to be able to give you an objective option on other graphic design programs.
However, this I can tell you, I have used only 10% of these graphic programs 95% of the time, so I expect that their are other programs less expensive and just as capable to do over 95% of your web design graphics.
As far as the flash program software goes, I'm at zero, BUT!, I do intent to start learning how to use flash-video type program for some short instructional clips and whatever else I can dream up to entertain you. From here on out, it's just fun stuff for me.
Pros and cons of website and graphic design software
Less is more. Remember this. Keep it simple, clean and easy to navigate. Another thing your need to consider, using frames for you website may make it easier to make changes to all webpage graphics and menus, however, they can create a big problem for the search engines if not done correctly.
I never liked frames and found it easier to create CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) for the menus and changing graphics by using the same file name. Just a thought.
I find the large Java or Java scripts can become a nuisance to work with, probably because I'm not good at writing that code. Also, any of the more advanced and powerful type codes need to be left to the more experienced web designers. You're going to have your hands full just learning the basic website or graphics software programs.
